It was early 2024, and the relentless glare of the sun was becoming a real nuisance during my daily walks. ☀️😩🚶‍♀️

It was early 2024, and the relentless glare of the sun was becoming a real nuisance during my daily walks. My old sunglasses were scratched, outdated, and frankly, didn't offer the kind of clarity I needed, especially with my slight myopia. I'd been putting off getting new ones, dreading the typical optician visit – the waiting, the endless choices, and of course, the hefty price tag. That’s when I started thinking about online options. I'd seen ads for various online eyewear retailers, promising convenience and affordability. My main pain point was finding something stylish that could also incorporate my prescription, without breaking the bank. I resonated deeply with reviews from others who just wanted a straightforward, affordable solution for their vision needs, a sentiment that often drove them online in the first place, hoping for a smoother, less intimidating process than traditional brick-and-mortar stores. I just wanted a simple, effective pair of shades that made my life easier.

My search for the perfect pair led me to Cinily Eyewear. I spent a good hour browsing their extensive collection, comparing styles and prices. What really caught my eye was their range of polarized prescription sunglasses. I've always heard good things about polarized lenses for cutting glare, and the idea of having that combined with my prescription for outdoor activities was incredibly appealing. I also considered a few other sites, but Cinily Eyewear's interface felt intuitive, and the virtual try-on feature was surprisingly accurate, giving me a good sense of how the frames would look on me. I finally settled on the sleek TR90 Retro Polarized Sunglasses. The ordering process was straightforward; I uploaded my prescription, picked my lens tint, and proceeded to checkout. While I considered expedited shipping, I opted for standard delivery, mindful of some online chatter about shipping times. I was a little anxious during the waiting period, hoping they would arrive as expected, a feeling many online shoppers share, especially when you're depending on an item for daily use.

When the package arrived in late 2024, my first impression was generally positive. The glasses came in a sturdy, compact case, which felt reassuringly protective. There wasn't an overly luxurious unboxing experience, but it was practical and well-secured. The TR90 Retro Polarized Sunglasses themselves felt lightweight yet durable, living up to the TR90 material's reputation for flexibility and resilience. The black lenses had a subtle mirror finish that looked quite stylish, exactly as depicted on the website. They didn't feel flimsy, and the hinges operated smoothly. Putting them on for the first time, I immediately noticed the clarity. The world didn't just get darker; it got crisper, with colors popping and glare significantly reduced. They fit comfortably on my face without pinching or slipping, which was a huge relief after struggling with ill-fitting sunglasses in the past.

My actual usage of the TR90 Retro Polarized Sunglasses has been fantastic. Whether I'm driving, walking my dog, or just enjoying a sunny afternoon on the patio, the polarized lenses truly make a difference. The glare off car windshields and wet pavements is virtually eliminated, reducing eye strain significantly. My prescription was perfectly integrated, providing clear vision without any distortion, a testament to the quality of the custom lens work. I've found them incredibly comfortable for extended wear; they're so light I often forget I have them on. The TR90 material has proven robust, shrugging off minor bumps and drops without a scratch, which is crucial for someone as prone to fumbling as I am. This positive experience echoes what many satisfied Cinily Eyewear customers report about the product quality itself.

However, no experience is without its potential pitfalls, and it’s important to acknowledge areas where things could go wrong, particularly concerning customer service and shipping expectations. While my order was straightforward, I came across a review from Michael Oakes that starkly highlights some of the frustrations customers can face with online businesses, including Cinily Eyewear. He wrote:

"This place is nothing more than an automated business that cares nothing about its customers. They are a fraud, ripping customers off for services that they charge for and do NOT provide.

I ordered twice from them before, without any need to return or exchange, so I never understood the negative reviews. The third time I ordered, their site said “eligible for next day delivery”. That would typically mean “next day”, right? So, I pay for the $19.95 next day delivery fee, pay for my glasses and hours later receive an email stating that “my order is in process and will take 3 business days”. Where is next day? Wait…it doesn’t stop there.

I call their toll free line…automated…no human intervention. I try their “live chat”…automated bot. I email both their customer service and returns department asking for a refund of my $19.95 next day delivery fee since it’s clearly not meeting the requirements…crickets.

I call their toll free number back and keep going through the menu and trying different options. I try the one that asks if I want to place an order…bingo, I get a human. So I propose my issue to that person and after several moments on hold I get told “I will submit your request to the billing department and it will be up to them”. Ummm, nope…you’re not providing a service that I paid for…refund my money. Agent wasn’t hearing that and ended the call.

Horrible business. Horrible customer service. Everything is automated and forces you to interact with a live chat bot or an endless phone system that they hope you’ll just give up on from pure frustration.

I will NEVER do business with this place again and will spread this review like the plague.

Update 02-24-2025:

Order placed 02-18 Label created 02-20 (not shipped as they stated) UPS in possession of package 02-21 Item in transit 02-22 Item delivered 02-24 Not “next day delivery” as their site clearly stated.

Nothing to “produce” as the glasses had “Plano lenses” with no prescription so still not sure of the delay in “production”

Still would not recommend this company based on their lack of replies to 6 emails requesting help. Their sugar coated response is lack luster and a poor attempt to cover up their extremely lacking customer service. Purchase elsewhere and avoid the issues that so many are having with this company."

Michael’s experience highlights critical points about delivery promises and customer support responsiveness, especially the frustration of automated systems. While my own order for prescription lenses naturally involved some production time (unlike his plano lenses), his detailed timeline from 2025 clearly shows a discrepancy in delivery claims. It's a reminder that while the product itself can be excellent, the customer service infrastructure is just as vital. It seems that if you need to resolve an issue, it can be a significant challenge, requiring persistence or even external intervention, which certainly diminishes the overall convenience of online shopping.

In summary, my experience with the TR90 Retro Polarized Sunglasses from Cinily Eyewear has been overwhelmingly positive in terms of product quality and fit. They truly delivered on clarity, comfort, and style for my specific prescription needs. I would recommend them for anyone looking for affordable, quality prescription sunglasses, especially those who prioritize good lens performance and lightweight frames. However, based on reviews like Michael Oakes's, I'd caution potential buyers to manage their expectations regarding shipping speed promises and prepare for potentially challenging customer service interactions if an issue arises. If your order goes smoothly, you’ll likely be delighted with the product, as I am. But it’s wise to acknowledge the mixed feedback on their post-purchase support, as it seems to be a recurring theme for some customers.
