My search for eyewear 👓✨
My search for the perfect eyewear began, as it often does, with a sudden realization: my old sports sunglasses simply weren't cutting it anymore. Between my increasingly active lifestyle and a prescription that seemed to be constantly shifting, I needed something that could keep up. I was tired of fumbling with contact lenses on a windy trail or dealing with the glare from the road when cycling. What I desperately needed was a pair of polarized sunglasses that could accommodate my specific myopia prescription, offering both clear vision and protection from the sun's harsh rays. This quest led me to consider custom-made options, a journey many of us embark on when standard solutions fall short. The promise of tailor-made lenses for outdoor activities, especially the idea of Sports Prescription Sunglasses, felt like the ideal solution to my ongoing struggle with both vision clarity and sun protection.
My decision to try Cinily Eyewear was initially driven by their extensive online catalog and the seemingly competitive pricing for custom prescription lenses. I spent a good amount of time browsing their site, comparing styles and lens options. The process seemed straightforward enough – upload my prescription, choose a frame, and select the lens type. I’ve had success with online eyewear purchases before, so I felt reasonably confident. What finally sealed the deal was the enticing "next day delivery" option that popped up during checkout, seemingly perfect for my upcoming outdoor adventure in late February 2025. It seemed like a convenient way to get my new glasses quickly, despite the additional $19.95 fee. I completed my order, feeling a mix of anticipation and relief that I was finally addressing my long-standing eyewear needs.
The initial feeling of expectation quickly dissolved into a familiar sense of dread as the days passed without my glasses. My experience echoed what another customer, Michael Oakes, vividly described: "This place is nothing more than an automated business that cares nothing about its customers. They are a fraud, ripping customers off for services that they charge for and do NOT provide. I ordered twice from them before, without any need to return or exchange, so I never understood the negative reviews. The third time I ordered, their site said “eligible for next day delivery”. That would typically mean “next day”, right? So, I pay for the $19.95 next day delivery fee, pay for my glasses and hours later receive an email stating that “my order is in process and will take 3 business days”. Where is next day? Wait…it doesn’t stop there. I call their toll free line…automated…no human intervention. I try their “live chat”…automated bot. I email both their customer service and returns department asking for a refund of my $19.95 next day delivery fee since it’s clearly not meeting the requirements…crickets. I call their toll free number back and keep going through the menu and trying different options. I try the one that asks if I want to place an order…bingo, I get a human. So I propose my issue to that person and after several moments on hold I get told “I will submit your request to the billing department and it will be up to them”. Ummm, nope…you’re not providing a service that I paid for…refund my money. Agent wasn’t hearing that and ended the call. Horrible business. Horrible customer service. Everything is automated and forces you to interact with a live chat bot or an endless phone system that they hope you’ll just give up on from pure frustration. I will NEVER do business with this place again and will spread this review like the plague. Update 02-24-2025: Order placed 02-18 Label created 02-20 (not shipped as they stated) UPS in possession of package 02-21 Item in transit 02-22 Item delivered 02-24 Not “next day delivery” as their site clearly stated. Nothing to “produce” as the glasses had “Plano lenses” with no prescription so still not sure of the delay in “production” Still would not recommend this company based on their lack of replies to 6 emails requesting help. Their sugar coated response is lack luster and a poor attempt to cover up their extremely lacking customer service. Purchase elsewhere and avoid the issues that so many are having with this company." This experience with their automated systems and the lack of human support was incredibly frustrating and utterly disappointing, especially given the promise of expedited shipping.
When the Sports Prescription Sunglasses finally arrived on February 24, 2025, days after the promised "next day" delivery, my initial joy was somewhat tempered by the preceding ordeal. The packaging itself was fairly standard, a simple case protecting the glasses within. The glasses themselves felt sturdy and looked as advertised online – a sleek, sporty design that seemed perfect for cycling or running. The polarized lenses appeared clear, and the frame felt comfortable and lightweight when I tried them on. Despite the rocky start with delivery and customer service, the physical product did seem to meet my aesthetic and tactile expectations. However, the true test would, of course, be in their actual use, specifically how well the custom prescription performed in various bright light conditions.
Using the Sports Prescription Sunglasses for the first time on a sunny morning cycle ride revealed a mixed bag of emotions. The good news first: the prescription was spot-on. My vision was incredibly clear, and the polarized lenses did an excellent job of cutting glare from the road and surrounding cars, which was exactly what I needed for safety and comfort. They stayed securely on my face even during vigorous movement, a testament to their thoughtful design for sports enthusiasts. The lightweight feel also meant I barely noticed them during long rides. However, the lingering frustration from the purchase and delivery experience tainted the otherwise good product. While the glasses performed well, the journey to get them was unnecessarily stressful and highlighted a significant gap in Cinily Eyewear's operational efficiency and customer engagement.
Ultimately, my experience with Cinily Eyewear for my Sports Prescription Sunglasses was a rollercoaster of highs and lows. The product itself, once it arrived, was genuinely good, delivering on its promise of clear, polarized vision for active use. The lenses were accurate, and the frame was comfortable and well-suited for sports. If you value the product quality above all else and are prepared for a potentially frustrating customer service experience, especially regarding delivery promises, then these glasses might still be for you. However, the lack of transparency in shipping times and the extremely unhelpful, automated customer support system are significant drawbacks. I wouldn't recommend them if timely delivery or responsive human support are high on your priority list. While the physical glasses were satisfactory, the overall purchasing journey left me feeling profoundly disappointed and unheard.
